Georgia Library Service for the Blind & Print Disabled (GLS), supports accessible library services in Georgia by promoting the use of assistive technology and by providing accessible reading materials to those who, due to a disability, are unable to read standard print.

ELIGIBILITY

Georgia Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (GLS) provides resources to those who cannot read traditional books or magazines. Resources include a variety of assistive technologies available for those who qualify.

Who qualifies for the service?

  1. Anyone who is unable to read or handle standard printed materials as a result of temporary or permanent visual or physical disability.
  2. Persons who are legally blind or cannot see well enough or focus long enough to read standard print; even with glasses.
  3. Person who are unable to hold or turn pages of print books.
  4. Person who are certified by a medical doctor as have a reading disability.
